Halfway there: An update on my progress

Another sporadic update to this thing.

With the holiday winding down and its insanity abating for the more preferable mundanity that is the everyday grind of scholarship and competition, I would just like to sit back and appreciate the lessons I learnt and the changes I’ve gone through.

The most major development in my life is my growing passion for photography and videography. I picked up my first DSLR a year ago, and I have not looked back since. There is something amazing about snapping a really good photograph. Of course, I have way more to learn, but if you are interested in how I am doing with my photography, you can check out some of my better shots on my flickr.

With Videography, I am diving into some projects with some of my friends and seniors. One of the projects I am quite pleased with is “Kim”, a video produced by my friend Kelvin in which we wanted to try our hands at making a short film. I did my best to write the script and shoot alongside Kelvin, and the product was overall a solid exercise.

Two more major projects are coming out this August with me being the co-videographer; I might update this blog again when they come out.

The whole experience for the past few weeks have culminated in me deciding to take the plunge, and to start offering my services to others on a freelance basis.
